Brown is the quietest colour we sell. It suits a room with timber, leather or linen in it, and it is the one people choose when white feels too clinical and black too severe.
The silk is the same on every colour we sell: 100 per cent mulberry, Grade 6A long fibre, woven to 22 momme. The colour is the only thing that changes.
Brown is also the forgiving choice next to a bedside lamp. Silk has a natural lustre and a brown one catches warm light rather than reflecting it back at you.
It closes with a hidden zip rather than an envelope flap, so the pillow stays where you put it and there is nothing to tuck at 11pm.
Fits a standard Irish pillow at 51 cm by 76 cm. A king pillow will not fit, and we would rather say that here than on the returns page.

At 22 momme this is a dense, heavy silk. Below about 19 a pillowcase wears through quickly; much above 22 and you are into curtain weight and lose the drape.

This case is 22 momme, which is the weight we settled on for pillowcases: 19 is fine but wears through sooner, and much heavier than 22 starts behaving like furnishing silk and loses the drape.

Satin is a weave and silk is a fibre, so a fabric can be one, the other, or both. This page is silk.
