About this product
A whole bed dressed, in microfibre satin.
A four or six piece set in microfibre satin, queen or king, in five colours. Four piece is a quilt cover, a flat sheet and two pillowcases. Six piece is the same with four pillowcases.
This is a satin bed set in microfibre, not a silk one. It is the cheapest way to put a satin surface on a whole bed, and it is machine washable, which silk bedding is not.
Four piece is one quilt or duvet cover, one flat sheet and two pillowcases. Six piece is the same set with four pillowcases instead of two.
Queen and king, in black, blue, gold, red and white. Every colour is the same fabric.
Microfibre satin is fade resistant and shrink resistant, and it takes stains less readily than silk. It also washes cold on a gentle cycle and comes out close to wrinkle free.
If you want silk on the bed rather than satin, the 100% Pure Silk Sheet page is the 19 momme mulberry flat sheet, which costs more than this whole set and is one sheet.
Dressing a whole bed in silk is expensive enough that most people do it one piece at a time. A microfibre satin set is the other route: the same low friction surface across everything, for less than a single silk sheet costs.
The trade is real and worth stating. Microfibre does not breathe the way silk does, so some people sleep warmer under it. In exchange it is far harder to damage: it machine washes, it does not need shade drying, and it shrugs off marks.
The pillowcases in the set are the reason to think about four versus six. If you sleep two to a bed and change pillowcases more often than sheets, six piece gives you a spare pair and saves a wash.
Colour holds well on microfibre because the dye is in the fibre rather than printed on it, which is why the set is described as fade resistant. Sunlight is still what fades bedding, so line dry in the shade if you can.
The first wash should be on its own. Strong colours in a satin weave can transfer once, and once only.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. You have 15 days from purchase on any unused item in its original packaging. That sits on top of the 14 day right to cancel that Irish law gives you on anything bought online. On a cancellation you pay only the direct cost of sending the goods back.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 you are entitled to a repair or a replacement first, and to a price reduction or your money back where that does not put things right. We pay the return postage and nothing on this page limits any of it. Read the detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Are Satin Sheets whisper-quiet for light sleepers?
Yes, the silky-smooth weave creates minimal rustle, so you can turn with less noise and stay in the zone. The low-friction glide helps you settle quickly, encouraging a calmer, more undisturbed night from lights-out to wake-up.
What should I look for in a Satin Silk Bed Set?
Choose smooth, tightly woven satin with a soft handfeel and neat finishing. Prioritise easy-care instructions (30 °C, gentle cycle) and a sleek, long-lasting drape for everyday indulgence.
Are Satin Sheets a thoughtful gift?
Indeed, practical luxury used 7 nights a week. Loved for skin-friendly, hair-loving benefits and that elegant lustre, a present that keeps delighting.
Does Silk Satin Bedding support cleaner bedding?
The low-lint, low-static surface attracts less fluff and helps resist build-up, keeping your sleep space looking pristine between wash days.
Will a Satin Silk Bed Set freshen quickly after washing?
Yes, after a cold, gentle wash, air-dry indoors; most sets are ready within 2-4 hours depending on airflow. A short steam revives lustre.
Do Satin Sheets stay secure overnight?
Quality tailoring and thoughtful finishes help them stay put, delivering skin-and-hair glide without shifting for a tidy morning look.
What does momme actually measure?
Weight, not thread count. Silk thread is too fine to count usefully, so it is weighed instead: momme is the weight in pounds of a 45 inch by 100 yard piece. Our pillowcases, eye mask, bonnet and baby mittens are 22 momme, the silk flat sheet is 19 momme and the women's mulberry pyjama set is 16 momme.
Can a Satin Silk Bed Set extend a blow-dry?
Yes, reduced friction preserves shape and shine for longer, meaning fewer heat-tool sessions and healthier ends.
Are Satin Sheets travel-friendly?
Definitely, satin folds slim, weighs only a few hundred grams, and shakes out in minutes. Take familiar comfort and beauty-sleep benefits wherever you go.
Does Silk Satin Bedding look polished on the bed?
The subtle sheen adds a refined finish that elevates your room instantly, luxe aesthetics with nightly comfort.
Is a Satin Silk Bed Set good for mindful routines?
Perfectly, the calming touch and liquid drape set a relaxed tone for journalling, stretching, or tea before lights-out.
Do Satin Sheets help partners with different temps?
Yes, satin's balanced drape moves heat and vapour efficiently, creating a more even bed climate so both sleepers stay comfortable.
Will Silk Satin Bedding crease easily?
Satin resists harsh wrinkling. Hang after use and most lines drop; a quick pass of steam brings back that hotel-fresh finish in minutes.
Are Satin Silk Bed Sets kind to freshly shaved skin?
Yes, the non-abrasive glide won't catch on new shaves, leaving legs and underarms feeling soothed and pampered.
Can Satin Sheets improve next-day hair styling?
Yes, less friction means fewer kinks, so blow-dries and waves last longer. Expect easier mornings and reduced heat styling.
Is Silk Satin Bedding a smart year-round upgrade?
Absolutely, cool in summer, pleasantly insulating when layered in winter. Enjoy four-season comfort with a refined, boutique-suite look.
Does a Satin Silk Bed Set reduce static and lint?
It does, the smooth face and gentle conductivity minimise static build-up, helping your bed look crisp and feel calmer.
Are Satin Sheets quick to refresh between washes?
Yes, air for 10-15 minutes to lift light odours; a brief steam restores the sleek finish. Low effort, high polish for busy weeks.
Is Silk Satin Bedding suitable after evening showers?
It is, the fresh, cool touch won't grab on clean skin. Slip in post-shower and unwind quickly as the low-drag surface helps you relax.
Will a Satin Silk Bed Set help retain hair moisture?
Yes, satin's lower absorbency helps natural oils and leave-ins stay on strands, supporting shine, softness, and healthier ends over time.
Do Satin Sheets feel too slippery?
Quality charmeuse-style satin offers silky glide without slide-off drama, buttery, not greasy. It stays put while treating skin and hair kindly.
Is Silk Satin Bedding durable for everyday use?
With simple care, quality satin keeps its shape and sheen for years. Hang for 10-15 minutes and most light creases fall out, effortless upkeep.
Can a Satin Silk Bed Set help hot sleepers?
Definitely. The moisture-friendly drape and smooth weave support temperature balance, discouraging overheating so you slip into deeper rest.
Is everything on this site actually silk?
No, and the page always says which. The mulberry silk range is 100 per cent silk. The satin range is polyester or a viscose blend woven in a satin weave, which gives a similar glide at a much lower price. Both are on the site on purpose and each product page states its own fabric.
Does Silk Satin Bedding reduce sleep creases?
Yes, the low-drag finish helps lessen pillow lines on face and chest. Wake looking smoother with a small change that delivers a big beauty payoff.
Are Satin Silk Bed Sets easy to care for?
They are, machine-wash cold (30 °C) on gentle with mild detergent, then air-dry. A quick 2-3 minute steam refresh restores the lustre, keeping your bed photo-ready.
Will Satin Sheets keep me cooler than cotton?
Satin's glide and airy feel help disperse heat and humidity, keeping you composed on warm nights. The cool-to-touch hand supports restful sleep with less tossing and turning.
How much is delivery?
Free across Ireland on orders of €60 or more. Below that the method offered is Express Delivery at €25, which is also available above the threshold as a paid upgrade. Allow 5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.
Does a Satin Silk Bed Set help with frizzy hair?
Absolutely. The sleek surface cuts snagging and reduces friction, so curls keep definition and styles last longer. Wake to fewer tangles and a smoother, salon-fresh look.
Are Satin Sheets comfortable year-round?
Yes, silky-smooth satin feels cool in summer and cosy layered in winter. The low-friction finish helps you relax faster and turn easily, promoting deeper sleep and a fresh, hotel-style feel every night.
The complete guide
Four piece or six piece, queen or king, satin or silk
4 min readFlair Silk Company
What is actually in the box
Four piece: one quilt or duvet cover, one flat sheet, two pillowcases. Six piece: the same, with four pillowcases. Neither includes a fitted sheet, which is the thing worth checking against what you already own.
Six piece is about laundry, not luxury
Pillowcases need washing more often than sheets do. A six piece set gives you a matching spare pair, so you can change the cases mid-week without stripping the bed. If you sleep alone, four piece is usually plenty.
Satin here means microfibre
This set is a satin weave in microfibre. It is not silk, and the silk alternative on this site is a single flat sheet that costs more than this whole set. Both are honest products at their price; the page tells you which is which.
What you gain and what you give up
You gain a machine washable bed with a low friction surface throughout, in a fabric that resists fading, shrinking and creasing. You give up breathability: microfibre traps more warmth than silk, which some people like in July and notice in February.
Size by the mattress, not by the bed frame
Quilt cover sizing is standard, but mattress depth is not. If yours is a deep or pillow top mattress and you are between sizes, take the larger.
Washing it
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own for the first wash. No bleach. Line dry or tumble on the lowest heat. It comes out close to wrinkle free, so it rarely needs ironing. Wash it on its own the first time: a strong colour in a satin weave can transfer once.
Tell us what you want it to do and how you do laundry, and we will tell you whether the silk or the satin is the better spend. Free delivery across Ireland on orders over €60.
Satin Sheets sold by Flair Silk Company at silkpillowcase.irish. A bed set in MICROFIBRE SATIN, not silk, in a four piece configuration (one quilt or duvet cover, one flat sheet, two pillowcases) or six piece (the same with four pillowcases), in queen or king, in black, blue, gold, red or white. It is a different and cheaper product from the 100% Pure Silk Sheet on this site, which is a single 19 momme mulberry silk flat sheet. Care is a cold machine wash on a gentle cycle, washed separately the first time, no bleach, line dry or low tumble; it is fade resistant, shrink resistant and close to wrinkle free. Microfibre breathes less than silk. No medical outcome is claimed. Prices include VAT and vary by size and piece count. Delivery is Ireland wide, free over EUR 90, otherwise Express Delivery at EUR 25. Returns within 15 days on an unused item in original packaging; the Consumer Rights Act 2022 guarantees apply separately.
