This is a satin bed set in microfibre, not a silk one. It is the cheapest way to put a satin surface on a whole bed, and it is machine washable, which silk bedding is not.

Microfibre satin is fade resistant and shrink resistant, and it takes stains less readily than silk. It also washes cold on a gentle cycle and comes out close to wrinkle free.
