One pillowcase, 51 cm by 76 cm, Grade 6A long fibre mulberry silk with a hidden zip. Same silk as every case we sell. Mint green is the least common request and the one people are most pleased with.

Mint green is the least common request and the one people are most pleased with. It is a green with grey in it rather than a bright one, so it behaves like a neutral in a room that already has plants or pale timber.

The silk is the same on every colour we sell: 100 per cent mulberry, Grade 6A long fibre, woven to 22 momme. The colour is the only thing that changes.

Because it is an unusual colour it is the one most often bought as a single case rather than a pair. There is no minimum order, so one is fine.

It closes with a hidden zip rather than an envelope flap, so the pillow stays where you put it and there is nothing to tuck at 11pm.

Fits a standard Irish pillow at 51 cm by 76 cm. A king pillow will not fit, and we would rather say that here than on the returns page.

This case is 51 cm by 76 cm, which fits the standard pillow size sold here. If your pillow is a king, or a contoured memory foam shape, measure it before you order. A silk case that is stretched over a pillow it was not cut for wears at the seam first, and that is the one failure that is not the fabric's fault.

Momme is a weight, not a count. Silk thread is too fine to count usefully, so a standard piece is weighed instead. This case is 22 momme, which is the weight we settled on for pillowcases: 19 is fine but wears through sooner, and much heavier than 22 starts behaving like furnishing silk and loses the drape.

Know what you are buying, silk or satin

Satin is a weave and silk is a fibre, so a fabric can be one, the other, or both. This page is silk.
